A normal day

At last, the green is open! Time for a game of bowls. The Government released some lockdown rules and bowls is one of the sports allowed to start up with restrictions. So only solo or singles games, only alternate rinks used. The clubhouse is shut other toilets. A few conditions about use of mats and jacks. All games have to be pre-booked, so set up an online booking system.

Been a  bit of a battle getting here. The lockdown rules were relaxed a fortnight ago. The green might still be shut, possibly for 2020, the majority of the committee very anti. Took a few terse emails to get some movement.

So a very welcome first game this afternoon. The green superb. Lost 17 - 21 against one of our newish good bowlers. Still occasionally forgetting one or more of the elements for a perfect delivery. Sure it'll get better.

Since there are no Club championship or league matches, going to start a singles league for members pining for a bit of competition. Here's this afternoon's scorecard.
