Disappointing loss

After last weeks win, our Men's Fours B team has jumped ahead of Chatteris, as shown above. We play Hemingford C in the last fixture of the season in two week's time, one of the three teams equal on points ahead of us. Tonight it's a home match against Huntingdon B, another of those three teams. We need good win.

Looks unlikely on our rink two when we drop a three on the first end, six on the next. To be 0-9 down after two ends is a bit unsettling. But we stick in and pull back to 10-10. Our lead, normally so dependable, is nowhere near tonight. So we're under pressure from the start of each end. Drop a few more to go 12-18 down. We're ahead on the number of ends won, but when we get one or two, they get two or three. End up losing 14-22.

Disappointing on rink one. We lose by an even bigger margin. Rink three manages to win. Result, we lose the match 2-5 in points. That's not going to move us up the league.
