Been thinking hard the last couple of days. Trying to work out the logic of changing to an upright stance, then the change back to a crouch style, and the results.
My reaction to having a poor result is to change something. Realise that's not a sensible thing to do. Should just accept bad games happen occasionally.
In early May had a shattering week of four very poor performances in a row. The first use of the upright stance resulted in the best performance of the season to date. Seemed to sort things. Think now it was just a return to form.
What has improved is focus. Always been a problem on Thursday evening Men's Fours league matches, when there might be ten minutes between rolling two bowls. Also the cause of many slow starts to Club competition matches. No longer an issue. Everything gets shut out other than eyeballing that secondary aiming point. Now recognise it's probably the most important part of bowling.
So that's it. No more changes!
Until the next time. Only joking ~;o)
