Popped down the Clubhouse on the way to the library this afternoon. Normally a roll up, but it's been raining all day and there's not a soul about. The A team sheet is on the noticeboard for the first men's league match next Thursday. It's a potential top of the table clash. White Hart won Division 1 last year, we came third. They have Nick Brett playing for them.
Haven't made the team. Not surprised. The selection session was yesterday evening. Played for the A team as lead. Awful. Hardly any of my two bowls per end anywhere near the jack. Don't think anyone played particularly well.
Might have been okay playing two or three so my bowls came to rest against those before when played too long. But playing lead, your inaccuracy is there for all to see. Could kid myself that I can't play next week anyway. Away for a few days at Hunstanton. But the team sheet is typed, so must have been done last night, before my email to both captains this morning.
