Focus!

Opening Day tomorrow, the start of five months of sunny bowling. What does the 2018 season hold? Could range from the depths of not making it through to Finals Day (unlikely, since I've managed to win through to a Club final every season so far) to the heights of being a National Champion (also unlikely, since I've yet to make it past the second round of a County competition). That's the excitement. Anything is possible.

The one thing I need to concentrate on this year is... concentration! Must be more rigorous about focusing on the game, line and length, and tactics. Improved for singles and pairs matches. It's the men's fours that is challenging. Got to get better if I'm going to finally book a regular spot in the A Team.

All is ready. The bowls are polished and fresh Club stickers applied. The Thomas Taylor top, trousers and trainers are waiting to be donned for the first time. Only downer is the new Club shirts have yet to arrive. Supposed to be delivered by today ready for distribution tomorrow. No sign yet.

Let the 2018 bowling season commence... I'm ready!
