Boggy bowls

Warm and sunny leading up to today's games day, forecast nice weather after today. Just my luck that today is wet, wet, wet! It's games day with Terry & Kevin, two ex-workmates who've travelled from south and north for a day of bowls and golf.

Not sure they're as keen as me, but we start the bowls at 11.30am in steady drizzle. The format of three playing four bowls each generally means you're lucky to win an end by more than a single bowl. Twelve ends doesn't sound much. More a case of endurance in the damp.

Kevin wins back the RAC Singles Bowls Championship, 6 to my 4 and Terry's 3. After my first win last September, it's now 2-1 overall to Kevin. A month into the bowls season, I've yet to win a match!

Off to lunch and a damp nine holes of golf in the afternoon. Did better at that, drawing 54-54 with Terry, Kevin coming in at 59.

Here's the rather soggy bowls scorecard.
