I've seen the light 2

Way back last September I thought I'd seen the light. Started focusing on the backswing and believed all my problems were fixed. Of course it was nothing of the sort. Been tweaking things ever since, like tweaking is the latest must-do hobby.

But this morning in our Drawn Pairs club fixture, at last I started to feel comfortable. Hit the line right from the start without even trying. Getting a much better length. Started to think about the shot rather than the mechanics.

My partner is a B team player just starting to get into the A team. We were up against a good, experienced social player and his partner bobbing on the edge of County standard. My partner told me after the match we weren't expected to win... but we did!

In the first half I was getting one or two bowls near jack, putting them under pressure. Faded in the second half, when my problem of delivering short bowls returned. My partner was up to the challenge, getting a bowl in the head when they were four or five up.

That's now two semifinals I'm in, and three quarter finals to play. Keeping my fingers crossed for making finals day in September again. Here's the scorecard from this morning's match...
