Friendly this afternoon. My opponent a new member. Certainly not a new bowler. Seen him play indoors. Hard to understand how he can place a bowl within centimetres. Playing him in the singles league in a few weeks, so thought I'd get an early idea what I'm up against.
Good start, two up to me. Then he gets the length. Even when I'm looking safe with a couple of bowls tight in, he manages to edge out the jack. Whenever I touch the jack I give shot bowl away.
I play my best, so come away puzzled how, after such a close and engaging game, I end up losing 5 - 21. Sure I can do better when we next meet. Here's the scorecard.
