Men's Four Bowls Club competition match this evening, first to twenty-one. My opponent a good Club player. Although it's the first time this season I've played on rink 1, feels good on the trail ends
My jack, play long. Seems the right strategy. Six consecutive winning ends and a 10-0 lead. Grouping my bowls around the jack. My opponent is bowling short. When he gets the jack it's a minimum length jack. More successful for him, but I'm getting second bowl every time, restricting his winning ends to singles. Get stuck on 18 for four ends before winning 21-7.
With the best performance of the season so far, things looking good. Here's the scorecard.
