Heavy going

Another County first round fixture this evening. Mixed Pairs, played with two bowls each over twenty-one ends. My original partner is unavailable, so I'm partnered by a willing substitute. We're playing away at Hemingford Bowls Club. I'm lead, my partner preferring to play skip

The green is renown for being heavy. We're both struggling in the early ends. My partner continues to bowl short throughout the match and I only get line and length in the closing ends, a while after we switch roles.
