Seven months of waiting finally over. And probably the best-attended first day ever, with almost fifty eager bowlers on the green, five of whom are potential members. Beautifully warm sunny afternoon, temperature 24c.
Surprising how difficult it is to get anywhere near the jack at first. Nothing to do with the quality of the green, which is magnificent. Fresh green untrodden grass means each bowl needs a fair old heft. Six ends before my bowls get close. From then on very happy with results.
Sandwiches, cakes and tea after. Summer has arrived!
