Another one escapes

Having determined to stop writing about lost matches, here's the tale of another that got away. Playing Huntingdon Gold this evening. Still bottom of the league, two points behind the second bottom club. Our opponents middle of the table with more than twice our points.

Looks like this one is going the usual way when we drop six on the second end. We're back in the play after another four ends, eight all. Thereafter it's nip and tuck, us generally playing catchup, but on the eleventh end we take the lead by a healthy three.

As we come into the last end it's all level and looking somewhat predictable. Yes, you've guessed it ... we lose by one. Must be four matches we've finished like that. What a difference those twelve lost points would make!

At least my skill level is markedly improving. Still as likely to respond to the skip's guidance of 'just another couple of feet' with a bowl in the ditch. But my line is pretty good, and every other bowl has a reasonable length. Should be just about there by the end of the indoor season in April ~;o) Here's the scorecard.
