Always amazes me how egalitarian the sport of bowls is. A couple of rinks from us this evening the indoor club is playing Ely in a ladies fours league match. The Ely team have three England International players. One of them is Ellen Falkner. Three times World Indoor Singles Champion, Commonwealth Games multi medal winner... the list goes on.
Watched Ellen win the World Indoor Mixed Pairs title this week. Any other sport would have autograph hunters queuing for her signature. This evening she's just another bowler trying her best. An amazingly fluid delivery. Must try to emulate that smoothness.
Anything but smooth on our rink. We lose yet again. Got the strongest team in the league. Must be... we're holding everyone else up ~:0)
