Playing Sawtry Bowls Club this evening. They're second in the league, so in for a pummelling. Surprisingly, we lead for most of the match helped by a score of seven on the third end. But gradually our lead disappears and we lose 12-16. So we're still bottom of the league with a single point.
Last week, playing our sister team St Ives Greens, we both won seven ends. Unfortunately they scored twos and threes, us ones and twos. Lost, 9-17.
From the lack of posting about recent results, you might gather the attraction of indoor bowling is waning. Definitely at a low ebb this evening. Heading out into the damp darkness for another loss followed up with a late bedtime, left pondering how much worse it's going to be in freezing January.
Wouldn't be so bad if I could see marked improvement. But I'm not. Why, oh why, did I volunteer? Don't think I'll be playing indoor bowls next year.
