Down the Club for 10.00am to deliver ham sandwiches. Three matches already in progress. Not having made a final for the first time in six years, it's a real Chinese torture. Played in FOUR finals last year, three of them on Finals Day. As I drive back home seems just about every car contains a bowler togged up in whites heading for the green. ~:0(((
Back at 2.00pm to watch the second half. The Men's Pairs is a bit of a walkover. The Over 60s Final is a classic, our top male and female players against each other over eighteen ends. At 17-17 as they come into the final end, the lady player gains victory by one. That's four competitions she's won, with another to play tomorrow evening. No wonder she knocked me out of three competitions!
Trophy presentation at 5.00pm. Lots of laughter and applause. Next year will be different!
