Last league match

The end of the outdoor season seems to be approaching fast. Tonight it's the last Men's Fours League match, at home against Hemingford C. Above is the current status.

I'm playing third on rink 2. Must be one of the tightest of matches. Over eighteen ends it's nine each. Fifteen are single bowl wins, the other three are two bowls. Unfortunately all the latter go to our opponents. We lose 9-12. Very happy with performance. Got at least one of my two bowls near the jack on most ends.

On the other two rinks we're well behind but stage recoveries. Win on one, lose the other. On total bowls we lose by a single shot. Overall score in points, 2-5. Won't do anything for our league position, but at least we stay in Division 3.

Can hardly see the jack as we finish the eighteenth end. Retire to the clubhouse for a rather nice ploughman's lunch. This year's Captain handed all the paperwork over. I'm Captain for 2019. Got a few ideas to boost the performance. Watch this space.
