Year on year improvement

Not rolled a bowl for a week. Getting withdrawal symptoms. Certainly need some practise before the County first round fixtures start this coming week. Time for the first solo practice of the year, rules as shown here.

Just before 5.00pm and there's still a few people around from a friendly in the afternoon. The sprinkler is on too, so have to wait a short while. Advised to go on rink 5 or 6. Others a bit bobbly, affected by worm casts. On Tuesday playing a County pairs match and the rinks will be set to red markers, so I play to them.

Setting a variety of medium, long and short jacks. The latter is certainly my most accurate. Bit frustrating on long jacks. Almost all my short bowls are from that length.

Make the target of more than 50% of bowls within three feet. That's encouraging so early in the season. Last year it took me three solo sessions before I hit target. And the highest number of bowls within two feet for a year, possibly ever. Here's the scorecard (the date should be 6 May).
