Concentrate!

County two bowls rinks match this evening. Three per team, two bowls each. At home against a team from Hemingford Bowls Club. I'm playing lead.

It's pretty even throughout the match. We go two ahead, they pull back. They sneak one ahead, we recover. Just towards the finish they string several winning ends together. As we play the last end they're five ahead. But with only our skip to deliver this last bowl, we're sitting with four! Can we stage a remarkable recovery to go into an extra end? Sadly not. It's a great last bowl, but just an inch short of giving us the five we need.

Rather embarrassing our skip and number two played well and I played like a plonker. On only one end did I deliver both bowls near to the jack. Typically got one nearby, the other somewhere else. Occasionally both my bowls were far away. As the evening wore on and the green got heavier, bowled too many short.

It's the concentration that's all over the place. Got to focus on getting a line and sticking to it. Just not very good at present
