Poor performance

Consoling myself I wasn't the only one struggling at this afternoon's Over 60s triples match at Potton Bowls Club. At half time on our rink we'd scored just one bowl, and lost 6-18. Playing second, only delivered one single decent bowl all afternoon. Too often my line was narrow, occasionally over compensated and wide.

The green had been scarified that morning and thirty bags of moss and thatch was collected. Maybe that had something to do with it. Should have known trouble was afoot when our lead's first three bowls went into the ditch. But no excuse really. We won on the other two rinks. How come were they able to cope?

Need to improve for tomorrow's Mens 4s league match. Otherwise things look a bit gloomy for my run of three semi-finals and one quarter final in the five days from Friday.
