Another close run thing

Men's 4s league match away to Houghton & Wyton A this evening. They're a couple of points and places above us in Division 3.

By half-way it looks like we're heading for a win on all three rinks and the full seven points. Surely we're all but home and dry on rink 2, 11-2 in the lead. Rink 4 is ahead 7-5. On our rink 5 it's 7-6 to us. 

Within a few more ends all turns sour. Drop consecutive 4s on one rink, two 5s in three ends on the other. Both lose 17-20 and 12-17. Only on our rink do we forge ahead, winning 22-11 and saving the bonus point for highest total bowls. We lose 3-4 in points. Another match where the result could have been so easily in our favour. Really should be contending for promotion rather than sat middle of the table.

Green very heavy and patchy in places. Quite a few of my lead bowls were short. In good company though. We all struggled at times. Here are the scorecards.
