Men's 4s home league match against Houghton & Wyton A. Going to be a difficult one.
Start well. I'm playing a blinder as lead. Keeping my head down and getting at least one of my two bowls close to the jack. Unfortunately, so is the other lead. Their skip is playing particularly well. Several times we're two or three up before he sneaks a bowl in to turn the end.
About half way we seem to go right off beam. Realise after a few bad ends that I'm not keeping my arm straight. Our skip starts playing like a bartender on the make... far too many short shots. A rally towards the end and we lose 12-18. Fortunately one of our other ends wins, so it's a loss in points 2-5. Although we're still ahead of our target to stay in Division 3, that's going to put us uncomfortably near the relegation zone.
So frustrating that I keep forgetting some simple element to get a consistent delivery. Doesn't help when you only play a couple of bowl occasionally. Hoping a return to four bowls and my first Club competiton match tomorrow evening will get back some consistency. Needs to. Up against a tough A Team opponent.
Here are the scorecards from this evening.
