Men's Fours league match this evening, away to Papworth Bowls Club. They're a couple of positions above us in the league table, so it's going to be a tough match. And our team is a bit depleted through holiday absences.
On the rink where I'm playing skip we get off to an awful start, after just four ends down 1-11. The green, one of the worst in the league, is really heavy and unpredictable. My players are all over the place and I'm not much better, playing only one good saving bowl in the entire match.
On the other two rinks things look much more promising. If we can narrow the gap on our rink and win on the other two, we might come away with a 5-2 points win.
Unfortunately it doesn't happen. Our rink end losing 8-31. We win comfortably on one of the other two rinks. Lose the match 2-5 in points.

Happy with the result. Set a target of 40 points by the end of the season, which means an average of 2.2 per match. So 2 for away games and 4 for home games would be perfect. At the halfway point in the season we've now got 29 points, an average of 3.2. Looking good!
