Last year I lost my first singles match to mate Tony. It was the beginning of a nine games losing streak. Eager not to repeat the experience in our first game of the new season.
Very happy with the result. Tony wins a single in the third end. The rest of the ends are mine. Final result 21-1 to me after just 11 ends.
Over so quickly, we have a second game. Tony rallies in the middle to draw close at 14-12. Ends comfortably at 21-14.
What works well?
- Making sure I deliver from the middle of the mat by placing my leading foot to the very edge. Thus, both forehand and backhand deliveries start from the centre point of the rink.
- Using a much shorter backswing. More of a push delivery, so much more stable. Not a single fluffed bowl.
- Watching a much closer aiming point throughout the delivery.
Here are the scorecards.
