My first Men's 4s B Team league match this evening. The team has had a bit of a rough start this season, sitting near the bottom of the bottom league. Considering we were relegated last year, our current position is somewhat embarrassing. Playing Papworth C, even lower in the league.
After the previous two days' experiences, enthusiasm at a low level. But it's a bit of a walkover, our rink winning 30-10, the team score 3-0 to us. Played well at number 2. Quite a few bowls in the count and several right beside the jack. Maybe the new £70 prescription sunglasses made the difference.

Still think the team games are mostly social events. No doubt if our club gets to the top of the leagues it reflects on the standard of our bowls. But a good example this evening was what happened to the bowls I did manage to get against the jack. On every occasion a later player knocked them away. So what was the point?
Got an introduction on how to fulfil the team captain role and complete the score cards from the club's President. Seems straightforward. At least as captain next year I can put myself as lead bowler every time.
