Getting a grip

Bowls is pretty high on the agenda at present. Loads of club competition fixtures to arrange. And after last weekend's disaster, keen to get down the bowls club this evening to reestablish some confidence in my game.

Pretty pleased with the results. Fitted in two sessions each of eighteen ends. On the first got at least one bowl within a foot of the jack on ten ends. On the second got half my bowls within three feet of the jack. Feel much better about that.

Last weekend I noted my brother Andrew bowls with his thumb on the top of the bowl. Realised all the bowlers around me were doing the same. Tried it and found the bowl gets launched much more securely and with greater momentum. So now changed from my previous cupped grip.

End of thinking. Here are the scorecards from this evening...
