An education

Down the bowls club with Geoff this evening for a practise. Four other players there so we ended up with two games of triples, Tony joining me and Geoff. Up against a county player and the lead bowl for the men's A team triples, the result was never in doubt. Tony 13, Geoff 12, me 3 after 18 ends.

But not all gloom and doom. Once I got going I was rolling a couple of bowls up close to the jack, beaten by a saving last bowl from my one of my opponents. The problem is getting going. By the time I've sorted grip, swing, stance etc, half the game is over and I'm well behind. Realised half way through this match the reason for me all too often bowling wide is I'm not holding the bowl straight in my hand. Once I sorted that things improved.

And yet another diary problem. Escaped the dilemma described under Damage limitation already? by bypassing the preliminary round of the Men's EBF Three Links triples and going straight to the first round on Monday 12 May. Only it seems the date is now Monday 19 May. Of course I've planned holidays around the original dates and am away on the new date. B*g*e*!
