Puzzled

Mens Fours league match this evening, at home against Eynesbury D. They're in the bottom half of the table, so hoping for a good win. A 5-2 result or above will put us top of the table.

Pretty soon realise it's not going to be an easy match. Recognise several faces from our match last week against their C Team. Of course, Eynesbury C don't have a match this evening. One Club dropped out of the league. Never mind, we lost 5-2 last week. Surely home advantage will make a difference.

Skipping rink 1, my team are playing as well as ever. But we're getting no luck. Sure we're only two down on end eight, the count turns out to be a six. We never recover and lose 15-23.

Rink 3 loses by an even bigger margin, 10-29. For a time rink 2 looks to be our saviour from a whitewash, leading 21-18 with three ends to go. They drop ten in the final three ends to lose 21-28.

A 0-7 loss in points is somewhat of a disappointment and a puzzle. Having won our first five matches with an average 6-1 result, we've now lost the last three with an average 2-5 score. Hmmm. We should still be in third place, but need to do better. Here are the scorecards.
