2019 Men's League

Look what's arrived by email today... the League fixtures for Division 3! I'm B Team captain again this year. Aspirations to play for the A Team meant dropping the honour in 2018. Really missed being team captain, so I'm back again for 2019. Might also have something to do with my disastrous start to the 2018 season, meaning only a few rather embarrassing appearances for the A Team.

Attended the League AGM at the beginning of December. Much of the discussion was yet again around the topic of knobbly knees. Should the wearing of shorts be allowed? We've had the same tortuous discussion at our Club committee meetings and only voted to allow shorts on the green late in the 2018 season. The AGM also agreed to the wearing of shorts. Must be Bowls England shorts. Club rules still take precedence, so only Huntingdon Bowls Club ban the wearing of shorts for men.

This year we've got an extra Men's League team, the C Team. Also got an extra Over 60's Wednesday afternoon team (now a total of three) and an extra Ladies' League team (now two). All a reflection of an increasing membership.
