Enjoying Thursday evening

Men's Fours league match this evening against Eynesbury Bowls Club B Team. I'm playing third for our B Team. It's three teams per side, four player per team each with two bowls, over eighteen ends.

We're playing on rink one. Been a bit bumpy recently, but light rain seems to have made things better. I'm continuing the new method of standing facing the line, taking a few seconds before I step forward, stoop and deliver the bowl.

Works like a dream again. Bang on line on any hand. Much more accurate length too. The odd delivery slightly too short or long, but the majority uncannily bang on. And even though it's only the second match using this style, seems so natural and smooth.

On the other two rinks we're getting a pasting. One ends losing 9-26, the other 12-19. But on our rink we're ahead throughout. Their skip is from the A Team and saves them several times. One end he converts from us holding five to one for them. On another from three to us to one to them. But we're playing too well and end winning 20-12.

For once, really enjoyed playing Mens Fours. No lack of concentration. On three ends I knocked out their shot bowl from right beside the jack. On most of our other winning end, had shot bowl or was in the count. At last playing the best bowls of my life. How things can change so quickly!
