Early Sunday morning. Bright sunshine, blue sky. Perfect day for bowling. Had a good roll up on Friday afternoon. The precious orbs were loving polished last night. White trousers and club shirt all pristine. Even cleaned my bowls shoes. Favourite cloth packed. All ready for the highlight of our bowling year....
The schedule is published and I'm on at 12 noon to play my Mixed Singles final against a top lady member. A national pairs champion and multiple county champion, no less. Need to be on top form.
Only trouble is I've been awake half the night. By midday I'll be dozing off. Is it all going to end in disaster?
