Popped down to the bowls club this evening for the weekly mow of the green surrounds. What should I spy on the board, but the Men's B Team selection sheet. I'm selected to play in the first match, away at Papworth! Complete surprise. Couldn't get the tick down fast enough to show my availability.
Perused the notice boards on the other side of the club house. Bingo! I'm also selected to play in the Over 60s Triples team away at Needingworth. Had to put myself as unavailable for that. Be playing lots of competitions over this weekend's visit from my brothers. Pushing it a bit to play two bowls league matches as well this coming week.
What a positive start to the bowls season! Just need to start playing well.
