Great teamwork

Men's Fours league match this evening, playing third for the B Team. Away against Eynesbury B at their green. They're league leaders with a five points margin over all other teams. We're bumping around third from bottom of the division. Would be wonderful to come away with a couple of points.

Our rink is in the lead from the start. They get within two at the tenth end, but a string of short jacks really throws them. We finish up winning 23-12. What was different? None of us played remarkably different. Just at least two of us near the jack on each end, working for each other.

Interesting what they say in the clubhouse over a tea of, yes, you've guessed it, cheese and ham rolls. They normally play on rinks one, two and three. This evening they had to give way to their A Team and play on four, five and six. Apparently, they'd lost as soon as they saw we were playing on six. How daft is that?

We win comfortably on one of the other rinks, narrowly on the last. So a 5 -2 win to us on points... our Captain thought he was dreaming! Why can't we do that every week?
