Great win!

About the closest local derby match possible this afternoon. We're playing our A team in an Over 60s league match. They're top of division 2. We, the B team, are about mid table in the same division.

On our rink we're up against three top players. First two ends only one bowl counts. So they go one ahead after the first end. We pull back one on the second end. And thereafter, up to half time tea and biscuits, they don't win another end. We go in 15-1 up! Our other two rinks are neck and neck.

They stage a bit of a recovery in the second half. Final score on our rink is 18-12 to us. Our performance causes the other B team players to rally, and we win the match 3-0. So with two points per win, plus a bonus point for the highest overall score, we gain 7 points. That'll boost us up the league table a bit.

Played a stormer at two. Hardly put a bowl wrong all afternoon. One of their players suggested I take up cricket, he was so fed up with me rolling my bowls up to the jack.
