32 miles for 1 mile

Played against Sharnbrook for our Over 60s B team this afternoon. And what a haul it was to get there! Thirty two miles away, all their other teams play in the Bedford leagues. But there's no over 60s league around Bedford.

Belted along the A14, A45 and A6 to ensure me and passengers got there within an hour and before 2pm. Could have set out a bit earlier, but it just ain't right to spend over an hour on the road for a 'local' bowls match and an afternoon bowling the equivalent of one mile.

We won 2-1. Guess who's end was the loser. In the first half we played well, but their skip played out of his skin. Didn't matter if we built up a good head, he destroyed it. So fed up, we were poor in the second half. Ended up getting thrashed.

Going to drop out of the over 60s next year and just captain the Men's 4s B team.
