Friendly : St Ives v Melbourn

Friendly triples match over 18 ends against Melbourn Bowls Club. Popped down well before the 3.00pm start to plant a few seeds on the allotment. Managed a row of spinach, spring onions and radishes. With everyone present started early, so off I rushed to get changed.

One of our four ends was well behind throughout the match, the other two neck and neck. Skipping our end, we cruised to a 20-8 win.

I usually hate skipping. Rarely get a clean shot at the jack. But today wasn't too bad. My two team members, both social bowlers, played out of their skins.

Rather than getting screwed up about exact line and length, used intuition throughout. Worked better and I enjoyed the match much more.

A cup of tea, sandwiches and cakes with our rink opponents rounded off a pleasant afternoon, with St Ives winning 3-1. Here's the scorecard for our rink.
