Painting the clubhouse

There's a tremendous amount of energy at the bowls club in the few weeks leading up to Opening Day. Much effort to get the green looking at its best and all the facilities spick and span.

A donation to buy new curtains means it's time to give the inside of the clubhouse a lick of paint. A few of us removing fixtures, brushing and rolling away this morning. A welcome break with tea and warm sausage rolls supplied by a lady member. The work will get finished over the next couple of days.

The committee have a passion and pride in getting things just right. Although members have a soft spot for the club, too few of those capable of helping are around when things need to get done. It's the way of most clubs; the dedicated few who are at the club every week working away on the green and surrounds. Hope the members recognise and appreciate all the effort.
