Cider with Sammy

Spent almost a couple of hours on the green this afternoon with eleven year old grandson Sammy, his first try at bowling. Used a set of small bowls from the ladies changing room and placed the jack just a third up the rink.

He did well. Got enough bowls close to make a game of it. The important thing was, he said he enjoyed it and wanted to play again. Yes!

Part of the deal was for me to provide some (low alcohol) cider to drink. So we had a break at half time for a small glass, and finished off with another.

The crunch will come on the next invitation... if he wants to play again and be happy with a cola. Maybe we've got a future world champion!
